As part of it's announcement back in June, that Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed would be ported to the Nintendo Switch, games developer Illfonic also took the opportunity to tease the inclusion of classic franchise villian, Samhain in a future update of the game.
While Illfonic has kept most details close to it's chest, it has now posted a new image of Samhain, confirming the spirit of Halloween's visage has been reproduced with the same level of faithfulness as the free DLC equipment shells for the 1986, 1997 and 2016 Ghostbusters teams.
In addition to this, Illfonic has also been revealed that Samhain will be portrayed by voice actor Ryan Colt Levy, succeeding from veteran actor William E. Martin who voiced Samhain in 1986 and 1987. Levy's credits include: Resident Evil: Death Island, Chainsaw Man, Sword Art Online: Progressive - Aria of a Starless Night, My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission, and Illfonic's past game, Arcadegeddon.
Levy is scheduled to appear during Illfonic's livestream on Twitch this evening at 1:00pm Pacific Daylight Time.

In an update to our previous post from last Wednesday, developer Illfonic has posted a new reveal trailer for the next round of downloadable content for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed to coincide with the new content going live.
Initially kept a secret by Albert Huang and Jordan Mathewson, the new ghost being introduced is the "Watcher" type, which keen-eyed observers will recognise the default design as being visually inspired by the classic Real Ghostbusters "Bug-Eye" toy by Kenner, and had a cameo apperance in Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The new map bundled with the free update is New Motion Club, a haunted music venue which has seen a spike in paranormal activity since it recently changed hands.
Industry trade Variety has reported that Sony Pictures has pushed back the release date for the next instalment in the Ghostbusters cinematic franchise.
Originally scheduled for December 20th 2023, the film is now slated for release on March 29th, 2024, in time for the Easter weekend.
The decision was taken in light of the current SAG-AFTRA strike which has affected television and motion picture productions in Hollywood since the 14th of July.
The next downloadable content update for Illfonic's Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is coming up, and in a developer stream preview earlier tonight on Twitch, and while the new ghost and map that will debut with the new DLC patch have been kept a secret for now, Community Coordinator Albert Huang and Design Director Jordan Mathewson gave viewers a preview of some of the other content that players will be able to use:
•Equipment shells, uniform, hairstyles and accessories based on Ghostbusters: Answer The Call
•Tenure Level III reward unlocked the suit/grey labcoat outfit similar to those worn by the Ghostbusters in their first television commercial.
•New clothing including hoodies and Hawaiian shirts.
•New blue Necroplast skins which will be unlocked by viewing streams by participating Twitch streamers (This event will run from August 1st until August 15th).
Albert and Jordan also revealed some of the technical tweaks that players will expect as part of the next update:
•Improved bot interactions.
•Improved Drudge haunt mechanics (and Drudge variants).
•"Clutter audio" experience during gameplay.
•RTC improvements.
•Ghost respawn tweak to provide a brief period of invulnerability after respawning via a rift.
•Improved visual aspect to the Side Hustles/Contracts.
•P.K.E. blast modified to work while the Proton Pack has been sabotaged.
•Object health bars have been given a visual update.
•The room icon changes to indicate how haunted a room is.
•Graphic tweaks to the XP notifications.
•Improved level-up animations.
